Leaving Certificate Ecology Field Trip
As part of their ecology studies, leaving cert Biology and Agricultural science students went to Renville Park on their field trip this year.
Some of the tasks carried out included:
·Mapping the study site
·Keying out species
·Vegetation survey – frequency and percentage cover
·Sampling and identifying invertebrates
·Examining invertebrate lifestyles
·Examining mammal and bird tracks & signs
·Exploring competition and adaptation
·Recording climatic, edaphic, biotic and abiotic factors
·Discussing food webs
·Conservation and National Park issues
